The VX-420 is one of the latest portables in the Vertex Standard line. It is the most featured packed sub-compact portable to date.

Features: 8-character Alpha Numeric Display, 6 programmable function keys, 32 channels, 5 Watts (VHF or UHF), 2-tone encode/decode, 5-tone encode/decode, Inversion scrambler, Multiple Scan Modes, DTMF ANI and many other 'standard' features.

There are also options for: Digital Voice Storage and Rolling Code Encryption.

This radio will prove to be one of the best values you could find on the market today.

Audio Compander for wide or narrowband chanels
Programmable per channel, the audio compander is available for both wide and narrowband channels.

Voice Encryption
The Inversion type voice encryption is Built In ! No added board, No added cost !

8 character display
The VX-420 adds an 8 character display to show channel names.

32 Channel Capcity
The VX-420 has two banks of 16 channles. Two banks of 16 channels makes them easy to manage.

2-tone Encode and Decode
2-tone decode and 2-tone encode are built in. The dual 2-tone feature is included as well as 2-tone encode.

Features requested by our dealers and end users, built in over the air functions. These include: Stun Kill Revive Auto TX Transpond Squelch (Mute) control Scan Start/Stop Emergency call Reset Choice of seven different alert tones (programmable per decode set)

Integrated Keypad
The built in 16 key DTMF keypad adds DTMF signaling as well as 4 additional programmable keys (A ~ D). That brings the number of programmable keys on this small portable to 6 !
